The technologist will monitor patients, resolve issues, explain procedures, score and report study results, and maintain equipment. Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following: Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists(BRPT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 1 year of Polysomnographic Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform both basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies, continuously monitoring the patient throughout the process and intervening as necessary to resolve patient or equipment issues.
  • Prepare the patient and equipment for ordered testing, and interview patients to determine specific sleep disorder issues while clearly explaining testing procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify individual needs, and accurately score, interpret, and report the results of all completed sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, and maintain all required testing equipment, including performing routine repairs and formally determining and reporting any necessary replacements.
