About The Position

CareRx is Canada’s leading provider of specialty pharmacy services to seniors. We serve more than 96,000 residents in over 1,600 seniors and other communities (long-term care homes, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes). We are a national organization with a large network of pharmacy fulfillment centres that allows us to deliver medications in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Registered Pharmacy Technician will provide safe and effective drug distribution services to numerous facilities. This may include gained knowledge in geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications as well as developing quick and accurate checking skills to support final checks in compounding, compliance packaging and other prescription requirements.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals(SCPP)
  • Experience working as a Registered Pharmacy Technician strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset
  • Retail/Community/Long Term Care Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated computer or word processing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage priorities in a time sensitive environment; possesses strong organizational skills
  • Ability to benefit from coaching and instruction for quality processes; comfort with & accepting of constructive feedback

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset
  • Retail/Community/Long Term Care Pharmacy experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic
  • Provide final check in a team-based workflow environment and also being involved in the quality assurance team
  • Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for delivery
  • Accept verbal prescriptions from prescribing authorities
  • Perform the final check of prepared prescriptions
