About The Position

Central Pharmacy Services (CPS) is a division of Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart that centrally fills prescriptions and provides other prescription processing services. CPS is transforming healthcare across Canada by creating a streamlined and versatile central fill network. This role is crucial in supporting Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacists and their teams by handling prescription fulfillment, allowing them to focus on patient care. Requirements

  • Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing.
  • Possession of liability insurance to legally practice as an RPhT.
  • A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Teammate and Leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred.
  • Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription for legal compliance and product quality, including weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages, and all non-packaged products.
  • Making appropriate corrections when identified.
  • Accurately counting and reconciling Narcotic and Controlled medications.
  • Checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure timely delivery.
  • Protecting patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
  • Staying current with and aligning with legal requirements, professional standards, and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.
