Registered Pharmacist - Pharmacy - Full Time
About The Position
The Registered Pharmacist reviews and verifies medication orders, prepares and dispenses medications, monitors medication therapies, and provides clinical consultations to medical and nursing staff. The role collaborates with care teams, participates in interdisciplinary rounds, and educates patients and families on safe medication use when appropriate. The pharmacist also supervises and mentors pharmacy technicians, students, and interns; maintains regulatory compliance and accurate records; participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives; and participates in Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) programs as assigned. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
- Current valid license to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania.
- Continuing education credits to maintain active licensure as mandated by the PSBP.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify physician medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions.
- Prepare and dispense medications, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and controlled substances.
- Monitor patient medication therapies and provide clinical consultations to medical and nursing staff.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with care teams to optimize medication use.
- Educate patients and families on safe and effective medication use when appropriate.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, students, and interns.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy and patient medical records systems.
- Participate in pharmacy department quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Participate in Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) programs as assigned.
