About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nursing Instructor, focusing on Clinical & Skills, as part of a Part-Time Faculty Pool at Madera Community College Center. The role involves providing quality instruction in both theory and clinical settings for nursing students.

Requirements

• Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related experience; or Any associate degree and six years of directly related experience; or A valid California Community College Credential; or The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
• Strong background in acute medical-surgical nursing.
• Experience in providing instruction in medical-surgical nursing.
• Ability to work well in a diversity of settings (pediatric, psychiatric, perinatal, and medical-surgical).
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction in theory and clinical settings.
• Develop new and current curriculum with a focus on student learning outcomes.
• Address issues of equity in the classroom.
• Examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students.
• Maintain a close liaison and harmonious relationship with area hospitals.
• Develop collegial relationships with peers.
• Communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
