Registered Nurse (RN) – Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The unit is a 25-bed unit that provides nursing care to a wide scope of diverse patient populations requiring telemetry monitoring related to medical, surgical or cardiac-related issues or also requiring ventilator support in a Magnet-designated, level 1 trauma, teaching hospital. It offers an excellent nursing culture and exposure to patients with diverse and complex medical issues to build skills and knowledge and grow in a nursing career.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- 1 year minimum of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
