About The Position
Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their In Patient Center Team. Hospice of Wichita Falls has been the only non-profit community-based hospice in the area for 40 years, providing services in 12 North Texas counties. They offer premier care while honoring patient wishes and pride themselves on providing an excellent working environment where teamwork, communication, and respect are key. The team members share a passion for patient care and a desire to make a difference. This role will serve patients in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack Montague, and Young counties, ensuring patients and families feel welcomed and at home in the Center. Responsibilities include performing assessments of the patient and family upon admission and incorporating this data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care, updating as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to be self-directed and function independently.
- Demonstrate leadership ability.
- Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate understanding of and ability to educate on disease process and expected changes.
- Ability to relate well with patients, families, community at large, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to be at work as scheduled and alert/awake.
- Ability to advance in computer knowledge.
- Demonstrates competency as defined.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments of the patient and family upon admission.
- Incorporate assessment data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care.
- Update the Comprehensive Plan of Care as needed.
- Ensure that the patient and family feel welcomed and at home in our Center.
- Oversee, educate, and direct other members of the team in a positive manner.
