About The Position

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. This is a 47 bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a patient ratio of 1:4, 1:5. This is a telemetry unit with an inpatient cardiac rehab program. It is a busy, high-acuity cardiac floor that falls under the critical care umbrella. The unit sees chest pain, stress test, acute GI bleeds, cardiac drips, cardiac monitored patients, pre and post open heart, cardiac cath patients and treats Watchman and TAVR procedure patients. Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is a 9 Hospital system, a part of Highmark Health, committed to transforming healthcare. Forbes Hospital is a 315 bed, Level II trauma hospital offering a wide range of services including trauma, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, obstetrics and psychiatry.

Requirements

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
