The 4A Advanced Cardiac Unit is a part-time, night shift position (7p-7:30a) focusing on adult/geriatric telemetry patients with an emphasis on Acute Chest Pain Syndrome. This unit is a primary source for patients post-cardiac procedures such as stents, pacemakers, and diagnostic catheterizations, as well as downgraded Code Heart patients from the ICU. The role also involves managing patients requiring external defibrillator devices. This position supports and incorporates the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy into job performance. It adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including regulatory requirements and Standards of Behavior. The Registered Nurse independently provides patient care using the nursing process, performs leadership and teaching duties to support effective patient care, and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. The role functions within the limits of state and federal licensing, regulatory bodies, and hospital policies.
