Registered Nurse (RN) - Crisis Stabilization Unit
About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Crisis Stabilization Unit. Registered nurses provide care and support to patients, including educating them about mental and medical conditions and offering advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Duties include leading therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint when required. Nurses document medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic testing and interpretation of results, operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and support follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families about managing illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention training within six months of hire and maintained annually.

- Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy.
- Perform other related duties.
