Registered Nurse (RN) - Crisis Stabilization Unit
About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Crisis Stabilization Unit. Registered nurses provide patient care and education about mental and medical conditions, as well as advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members. In this behavioral health role, duties include running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients’ medical histories and symptoms; help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results; operate medical machinery; administer treatments and medications; and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification upon hire and maintain it as current.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
- Complete Behavioral Violence Prevention within six months of hire and maintain it annually.
