About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is the region's largest comprehensive academic health system, with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics. This full-time night shift position is for the Adult ED Holds unit, which cares for adult patients 18 or older with a variety of medical diagnoses. The unit operates with a blended emergency department and inpatient stepdown care delivery model, offering a unique opportunity to gain expertise in both emergency and inpatient care, with the possibility of cross-training with the main emergency department. The environment is friendly, team-focused, and flexible to meet patient needs.

Requirements

• LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
• Relevant Work Experience
• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
• 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
• Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
• Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
