About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking inpatient Registered Nurses to join their team. The Heart and Vascular Critical Care Unit (HVCC) provides comprehensive services for critically ill cardiac patients, including post-MI care, post-cardiac surgery care, cardiac interventional care, therapeutic hypothermia, vasoactive infusions, hemodynamic monitoring, and mechanical ventilation. Patients often have diagnoses such as STEMI, cardiac arrest, CHF, and post-cardiac surgery. The unit supports advanced modalities like IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and CRRT. The Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) is equipped with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and continuous renal replacement technology, serving as the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area. The ICU has received the Beacon Award for excellence in critical care 8 times since 2004.

Requirements

  • Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for critically ill cardiac patients.
  • Manage patients with STEMI, cardiac arrest, CHF, and post-cardiac surgery.
  • Support advanced cardiovascular and critical care modalities.
  • Provide care in a Surgical ICU equipped with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and continuous renal replacement technology.
  • Care for patients in the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area.
