This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) working nights. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, safe administration of medications and treatments, effective communication, and pursuit of professional development. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and appropriate delegation are also essential. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is required. The nurse may be required to float to other units to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served.
