The Registered Nurse (RN) Orthopedic Trauma Acute Care position is a PRN (as needed) role working Days (7A-7P). This role is within UMC's 3 West unit, a 33-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic Trauma and Surgical Unit. The unit provides quality patient care to a diverse patient population, including young adults up to geriatrics, planned joint replacements, trauma patients, and patients admitted for other medical disease processes. The specialty focus is orthopedics trauma and surgery, including total joint replacements and fractures. 3 West offers a Joint Mobility Camp for patients who have undergone joint procedures and provides a comprehensive, learning-conducive orientation that uses interdisciplinary collaboration. The job summary describes a registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. This role relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
