Sentara Heart Hospital has openings in various specialized units including C-IMCU, Cardiac Surgical IMCU, Cath Lab, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing
  • Virginia RN License or Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire (for all Direct Care RNs)
  • ACLS certification within 1 year of hire (for Critical Care/IMCU)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or MSN
  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Less than one year of experience (for Nurse Residency program)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in specialized units such as C-IMCU, Cardiac Surgical IMCU, Cath Lab, Advanced Heart Failure, CSICU, and CICU.
  • Participate in the Sentara Nurse Residency program for new graduates, focusing on practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
