Registered Nurse-Emergency Department-Night
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department works the night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7p to 7a. This role requires working every third weekend and rotating holidays. The nurse will demonstrate a commitment to the hospital's mission, utilizing the nursing process for patient care, and maintaining current standards of practice. Responsibilities include contributing to professional development, integrating ethical provisions and evidence-based practice, enhancing nursing practice quality, promoting safety, correctly identifying patients, monitoring equipment, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and ensuring timely and thorough documentation. The position is located in Chicago, IL.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Communicates effectively.
- Current Illinois Nursing Licensure.
- American Heart Association CPR Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience preferred.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.

- Identifies patients correctly by using two unique ways.
- Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used to confirm that items are functioning properly.
- Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
