About The Position

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The facility is approximately 55,000 square feet, situated on 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, near the Florida and Georgia borders. It includes living units and the New Day Academy, a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs around 195 staff members. Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is currently seeking REGISTERED NURSES for DAY SHIFT. The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to psychiatric patients (children and adolescents) utilizing the established nursing process. This includes documentation, providing nursing groups, following program guidelines, medication administration, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment by intervening with disturbed patients, handling admissions and discharges, and using restraint techniques when necessary. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
Graduate from an accredited RN School of Nursing.
A diploma graduate and/or an associate degree in nursing required.
Current status as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
