The Same Day Surgery Unit at North Alabama Medical Center offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional care from admission through discharge—all within a single day. In this dynamic unit, you’ll care for a diverse patient population undergoing a wide range of procedures, allowing you to continuously expand your clinical expertise. From pre-operative preparation to post-anesthesia recovery, your role is critical in ensuring patients feel safe, informed, and supported throughout their surgical journey.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
• Basic Life Support required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred
• Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
