About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the care of outpatients during scheduled physician visits or telephone encounters. Under the direction of a licensed physician or advanced practice clinician (APC), the RN assesses, implements, and evaluates care for assigned patients. The RN applies knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and current methods and techniques of nursing practice. Using the nursing process, the RN collaborates with patients, their family members or significant others, professional peers, and other healthcare team members to individualize patient care. The RN directs nursing support staff in providing patient care in accordance with nursing practice standards and administrative and departmental policies and procedures. Professional education, training, or additional certifications may be required depending on the specialty area. The position is Tier 1 PRN, nights, with a stated schedule of 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required, or a multistate compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in the area of clinical specialty preferred.
• General experience in case management preferred.
