Highlights include: 31-bed Emergency Department, 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for acute patients, Specially designed behavioral health safe rooms, Care for patients across the lifespan with a wide range of medical emergencies, Designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
Requirements
- current RN VA or compact state license
- associate’s degree in nursing
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) within 6 months
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association, preferred
- Experience in acute care hospital, preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
