About The Position

The Med Surg Tele Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. The role offers opportunities to influence patient care through collaborative relationships with managers, hospital councils, and national nursing initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Virginia RN license or multistate compact license.
• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in their status.
• Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with medical providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients and contribute to patient-care decisions and outcomes.
