The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and upholds the hospital's mission statement. Responsibilities include the organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel, coordination of care with ancillary services, educating patients and their families about their disease process and plan of care, and serving as a patient advocate. The position is full-time and located at the Beaches - Main Building.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice To Haves

  • Degree Preferred: Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS)
  • 1-2 years Cardiac Experience Preferred
  • 1-2 years Telemetry Experience
  • Hospital Experience
  • Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
  • PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
  • Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel
  • Coordination of care provided by ancillary services
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses
  • Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
  • Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Act as the patient advocate
  • Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities
