About The Position

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice, following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit or position may be required to maintain the unit’s overall competency level, as required by a regulatory agency.
Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
Within six months of hire into the department, ACLS is required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, and Telemetry Floats.
NRP is required for RNs in Labor and Delivery.
PALS is required for RNs in Pediatrics.
PALS and TNCC are required within one year for the Emergency Department.

Nice To Haves

One year of professional nursing experience.
ACLS preferred in other units.

Responsibilities

Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care or standard of care and provide patient teaching using the plan of care or standard of care.
Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.
