About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Progressive Care Unit. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. This is a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit. Working on 5 North gives you the unique opportunity to work with both Adults and Geriatrics. Working on 5 North, you can expect your clinical skills to become greater than ever imagined due to the high acuity of patients and verities of scope which include: Post ICU Trauma patients (serious injury to 2 or more body systems), Traumatic Intra-Thoracic injury, intrabdominal injury, and complex fractures, Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds, Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy, Bariatric Surgery, Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease), Thoracic Surgeries- lobectomy, Esophagostomy, Urology- Prostatectomy, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery.

Requirements

Graduated from an Accredited Program.
Specialized field of study should be nursing.
RN license.
Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.

Responsibilities

Provide care for Post ICU Trauma patients with serious injury to 2 or more body systems.
Manage patients with Traumatic Intra-Thoracic injury, intrabdominal injury, and complex fractures.
Treat patients with Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds.
Care for patients undergoing Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy.
Provide care for Bariatric Surgery patients.
Manage patients undergoing Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease).
Assist with Thoracic Surgeries- lobectomy, Esophagostomy.
Provide care for Urology- Prostatectomy patients.
Assist with Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, and General Surgery patients.
