About The Position

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse – Otolaryngology to provide specialized outpatient nursing care within the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The RN will support physicians and healthcare teams in evaluating, treating, and educating patients with ear, nose, throat, sinus, head, and neck conditions. Duties include patient assessment, procedure support, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Education: Graduate from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Both through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.)
  • Minimum two years of outpatient, ER, ICU, urgent care, or specialty nursing experience preferred.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Strong outpatient and specialty clinic nursing skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies
  • Excellent patient education and communication abilities
  • Ability to assist with specialty procedures and clinical workflows
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent electronic medical record documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of urology clinic operations and patient care procedures
  • Familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is highly preferred
  • Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and annual influenza vaccination.
  • Must be able to successfully complete background investigations, credentialing, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.

  • ENT or specialty outpatient clinic experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Perform duties in accordance with the PWS, DHA standards, and MTF policies.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, and patient safety regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement, readiness activities, and staff training.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and geriatric ENT patients.
  • Obtain patient histories, medication lists, vital signs, and symptom assessments.
  • Perform telephone and in-person patient triage.
  • Assist providers during ENT examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Prepare patients and examination rooms for specialty procedures.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen, and prescribed treatments.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate referrals, specialty appointments, and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
  • Operate and maintain specialty clinic equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.
