About The Position

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Telemetry Unit. This is a full-time, day shift position. The role involves educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording vital signs, observing changes in patient conditions, and responding promptly with appropriate interventions. The nurse will utilize clinical judgment to address complex health situations, consult with medical team members, and document all care according to regulatory and organizational standards. Sentara offers a unique 6-month Transition to Practice Program for RNs with less than 12 months of experience or those transitioning to a new practice area, which includes general nursing orientation, specialty clinical track residency, professional development sessions, and mentoring. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Registered nursing License (Required)
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
BLS required within 90 days of hire
None required experience

Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
1 year of acute care (preferred)
Previous healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

Base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.
Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
