About The Position
Simpson General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Mendenhall, Mississippi. The nurse provides care and support to patients managing mental health and behavioral health conditions, helps advance treatment goals, educates patients and families, and collaborates with physicians, therapists, and other treatment-team members. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Mississippi Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification.
- At least two years of psychiatric nursing experience.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification.
- Experience in behavioral health, IOP, PHP, or outpatient mental health programs.
Responsibilities
- Complete nursing assessments during the admission process.
- Develop and update patient care plans.
- Carry out physician orders and nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Participate in weekly treatment team meetings.
- Lead and document psychoeducational groups.
- Educate patients and families about treatment, medications, and discharge plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate nursing care.
- Support quality improvement activities and chart audits.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment.
