Registered Nurse- Operating Room Circulator

About The Position

Provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission. The role is an Operating Room Circulator position scheduled for 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a rotating day off each week. Work consists of flexible eight-hour shifts between 5:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required upon hire.
Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice.
Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
May require specific years of applicable experience according to department guidelines.
May include a color-blind test according to department guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Additional certifications may be required according to unit requirements, such as ACLS, PALS, PEARS, or NRP.

Responsibilities

Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws and practice acts.
Document according to standards of care.
Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by a physician or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
Participate in department or unit performance-improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
Use clinical expertise and provide guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
Participate in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions, and peer review.
