About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room Float Pool at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown, West and Rutherford facilities in Nashville, TN. The schedule is Days | PRN. The nurse will act as a clinical advocate and care strategist, monitoring and communicating patient conditions for a safe transition to recovery. They will also serve as a safety and precision sentinel for the sterile field, ensuring patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management. Additionally, the nurse will orchestrate the preparation of technology and supplies to ensure procedures are executed flawlessly.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Act as the patient’s primary voice during their most vulnerable moments by monitoring, recording, and communicating their condition with clinical precision to ensure a safe, seamless transition to recovery.
Serve as the final authority on the sterile field, maintaining integrity over patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management to ensure 100% accuracy from the first incision to the final closure.
Orchestrate the preparation of cutting-edge technology and supplies to ensure every procedure is executed flawlessly by staying three steps ahead of the surgical team.
