About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This position is for the Days shift, working from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with scheduled hours of 36 per week. New graduates are welcome to apply and can participate in Sentara's dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program, designed for RNs with less than one year of experience. This program offers practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring to help new graduates transition into their nursing careers. The Emergency Department at Sentara CarePlex Hospital is equipped with 43 beds, including 11 fast-track beds. All emergency nurses receive specialized training, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric certifications. The primary duties of this role include assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and managing the overall care of patients. The role emphasizes teamwork and collaboration to ensure optimal patient care. Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
