About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This position is for the Days shift, working from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. New graduates are welcome to apply and can participate in the 6-month Nurse Residency program designed for RNs with less than one year of experience. This immersive program offers practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring. The role involves assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care. Teamwork is emphasized in this role. The Emergency Department at Sentara CarePlex Hospital is equipped with 43 beds, including 11 fast-track beds, and staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and specially trained nurses with Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric certifications. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed acute care facility in Hampton, VA, offering specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, and advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities. Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
