The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for following physician orders and communicating accurate assessment data to maintain quality of care. This role involves recording a patient's medical history accurately, monitoring and documenting changes in patient condition, and notifying the physician and supervisor. The RN will administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks. Additionally, the RN will provide monitoring and training to staff to maintain quality of care for all residents and communicate with patients' families or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions. The role utilizes various clinical skills in geriatric patient care, including wound care, infection control management, IVs, wound vacs, gastrostomy tubes, and medication management.
