Contract Registered Nurse - Operating Room
About The Position
InterHealth Staffing, a for-profit staffing division of Tampa General Hospital (TGH), is offering a 13-week seasonal assignment with competitive base pay and potential contract extensions based on unit needs. The role offers an opportunity to experience TGH and potentially transition to a permanent position. Seasonal applicants must have at least two years of experience in the specific division and be competent to work independently. Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services across all patient populations. The nurse functions as a circulating or scrub nurse during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum, consistent with their scope of practice, credentials, privileges, experience, education, and verified competency. The role assists with robotic and general surgery cases and carries out duties in accordance with TGH's mission, vision, values, and quality-improvement principles.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Two years of perioperative RN experience.
- At least two years of experience within the specific division being hired into, with demonstrated competence to work independently.
- Level I Trauma experience.
- Neurosurgical experience.
- Orthopedic experience.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- Scrub experience strongly preferred.
- Robotic experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients in the operating room and other perioperative services areas across all patient populations.
- Function as a circulating or scrub nurse, as assigned, during operative and other invasive procedures throughout the perioperative continuum.
- Assist with robotic and general surgery cases.
