About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 4N unit, which specializes in Medical-Surgical and Pediatrics. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM. The role involves implementing the nursing process, carrying out physician orders, performing patient assessments, monitoring care, documenting interventions, and educating patients and families. The nurse will also respond to emergencies, manage supplies, and ensure a clean environment. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating service excellence and acting as an ambassador for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC). Firelands Health aims to be the preferred independent healthcare employer in the Sandusky Bay region, known for its comprehensive care and employee-centric approach.

Requirements

Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Nice To Haves

Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
