About The Position

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Medical-Surgical unit. NCMH is a 90-bed, acute care, independent, not-for-profit, community hospital located in Newberry County, South Carolina. The hospital is Joint Commission Gold Seal approved and has received numerous awards. The Med/Surg RN is responsible for prescribing interventions, delegating tasks, and coordinating the care of assigned patients. This role involves giving direction and supervision to ancillary staff and providing individualized patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) with age-appropriate considerations.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• BLS/CPR required.
• Clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High level of interpersonal skills needed in order to ensure patient cooperation with the medical and nursing plan of care.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply problem solving skills to all situations.
• Ability to cope with high stress levels when dealing with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred.
