About The Position

Summerset is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its National Clinical Services team on a casual basis. This remote role provides clinical support by video, phone, and online to facility employees, primarily Caregivers and Registered Nurses. The nurse provides remote clinical escalation pathways for villages through evidence-based clinical reviews, clinical teaching, and management of incidents, risks, and events. The role is part-time, working a 2-days-on, 4-days-off roster with a mix of AM, PM, and night shifts.

Requirements

• New Zealand registration and a current practising certificate.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an aged-care setting.
• Good administration skills and experience using VCare.
• Strong computer skills and confidence using a variety of systems.
• Ability to work remotely, supported by a reliable internet connection and suitable home-office setup.
• Genuine interest in working with older people and understanding of clinical services in a retirement village.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality recommendations grounded in evidence-based practice.
• Communicate assessment findings effectively and advise the in-centre team.
• Contribute to resident care plans in collaboration with the in-centre team.
• Coach targeted care team members to support high-quality management.
• Use technology, including Microsoft Teams and electronic resident management systems, confidently.
• Provide remote clinical escalation pathways, clinical reviews, clinical teaching, and support with incidents, risks, and events.
