About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join their Progressive Care Unit. This unit specializes in Renal Transplant, Urology, Peritoneal Dialysis, Pulmonary Hypertension, and more. The hospital is recognized as a Magnet® designated facility and is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center. The unit, STC 3, is a 35-bed monitored unit caring for a diverse patient population including complex urology patients, pulmonary hypertension patients, kidney and pancreas transplant patients, peritoneal dialysis patients, and radioactive implant cases. STC 3 is unique as it is the only unit performing peritoneal dialysis and the only floor equipped with lead-lined rooms for radioactive therapies.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Active RN License
• Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer
• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Specialized field of study should be nursing
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.

Responsibilities

• Peritoneal Dialysis management
• Epidural management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation management
• Nephrostomy and Urostomy care
• Complex urinary catheter insertions and care
• Suprapubic catheter insertion and care
• Fistula access
• Ultrasound guided IV insertion
