Registered Nurse - Medical Pulmonary Unit - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care on the Medical Pulmonary Unit at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week day position, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and every other weekend required. No travel is required. The nurse assesses patients and collects health data in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare providers; coordinates safe, timely, appropriate, and consistent care; communicates effectively with customers; and tailors patient and family education to individual learning needs. The nurse also contributes to quality improvement and maintains knowledge of current nursing standards, laws, and regulations. Requirements
- Successful completion of an associate degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessment of their learning needs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
