About The Position
Texas Health Allen is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) for their Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) / Step-Down unit. This PRN position involves providing critical/progressive level of care for a mixed patient population in a 12-bed unit. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity. The team is dedicated to creating a patient-centered environment and fostering positive teamwork.
Requirements
- Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of RN residency program Required
- Current RN licensure upon hire required
- BCLS—Basic Cardiac Life Support—Prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support -Required within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training -Required within 60 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse or 6 months Critical Care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
