Registered Nurse (RN) Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit-3 East. This is a full-time position on the day shift (7a - 7p). The 3East - Intermediate Care Unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General enjoys a supportive team environment and nurse patient ratio including a unit based nurse educator, team coordinator and manager. The unit has an active Partnership council and is currently involved with the hospital Magnet redesignation journey. All new grad RNs receive a 10 to 12-week clinical preceptorship as well as enrollment in the Transition to Practice Program. The patient population on this unit may include: sepsis, hemorrhage, stroke, cardiac, trauma, post op, substance withdrawal, diabetic ketoacidosis.
Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Less than one year of experience (for new grad program)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit.
- Participate in the hospital's Magnet redesignation journey.
- Engage in a fast-paced, team-based care environment.
- Care for a patient population that may include sepsis, hemorrhage, stroke, cardiac, trauma, post op, substance withdrawal, and diabetic ketoacidosis.
