About The Position

Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services is a free-standing psychiatric hospital serving adolescents and adults in the Birmingham community. The facility has an average census of 150 patients and provides acute inpatient, residential, and group home services, including care for acute adults, acute adolescents, forensic adult males, and residential males and females. The hospital does not treat medically compromised individuals beyond its scope of care.

The part-time Registered Nurse works 12-hour shifts every other Saturday and Sunday. Candidates must be available to attend a full-time orientation on day shift without interruptions. The posting describes an 8-business-day orientation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; its requirements section also specifies 7 days of New Employee Orientation, normally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and the following Monday through Wednesday.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Hold current Registered Nurse status in Alabama or be eligible to obtain an Alabama RN license.
• Be available to attend the required orientation on day shift without interruptions.
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint checks, as well as a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• One year of psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
