About The Position

Saint Luke’s Community Hospital at the Legends is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. As an ED RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to perform ongoing assessments and provide direct patient care to a variety of acuity levels and conditions. Our community hospitals provide employees different experiences than our metro locations, including more autonomy with ER providers, on-site lab work processing, collaboration with specially trained paramedics, more involvement in daily operational activities due to being in a smaller hospital, and more time spent with patients. Requirements

  • 2 years Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
  • Associate Degree

Nice To Haves

  • Previous ED RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state.
  • Appropriately triage patient and prioritizes needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude.
  • Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures.
  • Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient meals.
  • Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
