Registered Nurse - Pre-Admission Testing
About The Position
The Registered Nurse delivers direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care is provided for neonates, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The RN coordinates patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides the OR Technician and other personnel, and maintains professional nursing standards. The role also works with other departments to support continuity of care and collaborates with co-workers to provide quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and unit maintenance and organization. The RN adheres to applicable regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures, participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services, and serves as a resource for other personnel as appropriate. This is a part-time day position in Surgical Services at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. The schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in 8-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
