About The Position

Interim HealthCare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Community Staffing team! This unique position would be in an intermediate care facility (ICF) supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in La Crescent MN. The RN will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and health of the residents as you monitor and assess their physical and emotional well being. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and a passion for enriching the lives of those they care for. Requirements

  • RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
  • Previous RN experience, preferably in a group home (ICF) community.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Management and assessment of healthcare for residents in an ICF group home including comprehensive health assessments, medication management, and overall monitoring of resident's health status.
  • Medication management for residents and training of direct care staff to perform medication passing.
  • Provide health education to residents and their families on various topics such as disease management, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
  • Respond to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently, following established protocols and providing immediate care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communications related to resident care.
  • Foster open and transparent communication with residents, their families, and staff to promote a positive and collaborative care environment.
