About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, quality clinical care and serves as a team leader to patient care staff. The role leads direct care providers in carrying out medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferences in accordance with Health Campus policies and procedures. The RN uses the nursing process to deliver care and support continuity from admission through discharge and return to family and community. The RN visits residents on the assigned unit daily to assess physical and emotional status, reports changes in condition to appropriate clinical leaders or the physician, responds to resident problems and emergencies, and completes required administrative and clinical documentation.

Requirements

• Must have and maintain a current, valid state RN license.
• Current, valid CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct care providers to ensure appropriate execution of medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferencing in compliance with Health Campus Policies and Procedures.
• Use the nursing process to deliver patient care and ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and return to family and community.
• Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status, and notify the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing when a resident’s condition changes.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician.
• Complete administrative duties and documentation, including medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting, as necessary.
