About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team at the Fort Smith Family Medical Center. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Valid RN License
  • Minimum of one (1) year Registered Nursing experience.
  • Will consider RN with two (2) years of LPN clinical experience.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
  • Understanding basic medical terminology is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the delivery of the highest quality Patient and Family-Centered Care within the clinic.
  • Manage the patient flow processes.
  • Promote wellness, improved outcomes, and self-care among a defined patient population.
  • Provide support, education, and assistance to patients who have chronic conditions, helping them prevent and maintain their health.
  • Triage, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and patient education either by telephone or within the UAMS Clinic.
  • Deliver nursing care according to standards as defined by UAMS, American Nurses Association (ANA), AR State Board of Nursing (ASBN), and those set forth by nursing specialty organizations.
  • Coordinate care and/or follow-up for patients who receive care in inpatient and outpatient facilities.
  • Implement patient care using an approach that is interdisciplinary and Patient and Family-Centered Care.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of UAMS.
