About The Position

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services is seeking a Part Time Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to work in their Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program (PRTF) for adolescent females and males at their West Chester, PA location. This program provides clinical treatment, educational instruction, and behavioral intervention services to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges and disorders. The role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and contribute to their growth and development. The program emphasizes Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS) to create safe and supportive living environments. Each year, over 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care with the goal of equipping them with the necessary skills to flourish in their communities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing with a B.S.N., Diploma or A.D.
  • Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • One year of post-education nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience with individuals with cognitive and/or behavioral challenges or medically complex conditions.
  • Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to children and adolescents in a psychiatric residential treatment program.
  • Work with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges.
  • Administer crisis prevention/intervention, trauma-informed care, CPR, and first aid.
  • Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Adhere to Devereux's zero-tolerance policy for abuse and cooperate with authorities.
