The team provides compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population, with RN ratios of 1:6 and support from a charge nurse and patient care technicians. The role uses the EPIC electronic medical record and offers flexible self-scheduling, team-building activities, and professional growth opportunities at the unit, hospital, and system levels. The Registered Nurse provides competent nursing care using the nursing process and applicable standards of practice and professional performance. The RN applies clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to the clinical area. A 10-week Transition to Practice program supports orientation, knowledge development, and skill acquisition for medical-surgical practice. Program elements include in-person learning using case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs; exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines; hands-on work with a trained nurse preceptor; peer networking in a supportive environment; and optional virtual professional development and mentoring sessions for experienced nurses. The posted full-time base pay range is $41.93–$61.01 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. Compensation varies based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is offered with no commitment.
