About The Position

Join the 36-bed Inpatient Oncology Unit, a progressive care environment specializing in care for patients with underlying malignancies. The unit provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures and medical oncology treatments in a fast-paced, supportive setting. The patient population is primarily surgical oncology (60%), including pre- and post-operative care for patients with solid tumors such as gynecologic, gastrointestinal, and head and neck cancers. Care includes progressive care and step-down monitoring, pain management, wound and drain care, and post-surgical recovery support. Medical oncology patients (30%) receive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and/or radiation therapy, symptom management for cancer-related complications, and supportive care for advanced or metastatic disease. The remaining 10% of patients require intermediate acute medical/surgical care unrelated to malignancies. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while helping create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
